Our Purpose
To advise on and facilitate the effective provision of recovery-oriented systems of care for Canadian aviators suffering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
ARC aims to be the national authority for all stakeholders in the Canadian aviation system on the spectrum of disease known as Substance Use Disorder (SUD). (Alternative terms: Problematic Substance Use, Substance Abuse, Substance Dependancy, Addiction). We advise on and facilitate the effective provision of recovery-oriented systems of care for Canadian aviators suffering from this entity.
Recognizing that the disease also impacts people and systems beyond the individual pilot, we collaborate in creating safe reporting and recovery cultures for the entire Canadian aviation community, from the flight school environment to senior leadership levels in Transport Canada and the Canadian government. One of our key tools to achieve this goal is education.
Our collaborative engagement supports saving lives, retaining careers, and protecting the safety of national aviation operations.
